President's Message
Nicole Ivers, CIH, CSP, CMIOSH
Georgia Safety Conference President
This conference just keeps getting better and better! Back again in our 29th year, this years’ conference is being kicked off in a significant way – with HOP expert, Dr. Todd Conklin! Being held September 4-6, 2024, in Savannah, Georgia at the Marriott Riverfront Hotel, we are excited to offer our expansive educational program with a variety of new and traditional topic areas, top-caliber presenters, and a strong focus on Human & Organizational Performance and Mental Health & Wellness – two of the priority topics applicable to our field currently.
EDUCATIONOf course, our main feature of the conference is always our comprehensive selection of educational presentations. This year we plan to include opportunities for more discussion and Q&A sessions, as well as diving deeper into the world of applying Human & Organizational Performance such as Learning Teams.
COLLABORATION AND NETWORKING ACTIVITIESThis conference is always a place to be for collaboration and networking. You won’t want to miss opportunities to browse our vendors in the exhibition hall and network with other attendees. Our first year back with the golf tournament fundraiser was a success so we’ll be holding it again – plan to golf with us and raise money for Kids’ Chance of Georgia. Unfortunately, the Savannah Bananas will not be in town this time but we are planning other fun events for you so stay tuned!
COST, CME/CEUs We have continued to keep prices as low as feasible (recognizing our own price increases). Our goal is to ensure that everyone – from small business to Fortune 500 companies - can send their employees and feel they have received top value for the cost. We believe we offer a cost-effective way to earn continuing education credits - including BSCP, ABIH, IHMM, and SHRM- while keeping excessive travel costs down. We also provide discounts for groups. GRATITUDEFinally, a big thank you to all of you who have made, and continue to make, this conference a success, year after year – our sponsors, exhibitors, our own board of volunteers, and attendees. Last year, we had one of our highest attended conferences ever and raised a record $42,623 for Kids’ Chance of Georgia. This was the most raised in one year since we started raising money for them in 2007. This puts the total raised at $224,354! With your help, this money has improved the lives of many children of Georgia’s injured or fatally wounded workers. Please feel free to contact me or any of our Board with questions or comments.
See you in Savannah,Nicole Ivers2023-2024 President
